About GuitaPro
Lessonator™ can load GuitarPro GP4 files and associate them to a slide. The GP4 file is converted to an internal file format that is optimized for Lessonator™.
Files composed using Guitar Pro are recorded in the GPX, GP5, GP4 and GP3 format, corresponding to versions 6, 5, 4, and 3 of the software. These file formats lack backwards compatibility, and opening them in an older version of Guitar Pro prompts the user to upgrade their software to the respective version. The GuitarPro file format is proprietary and only the GP4 version was ever documented.
Guitar Pro can also output MusicXML, although with much less details than GP4. For this reason, Lessonator™ users are encouraged to export as GP4.
